Update from Josh Young, Executive Director at Phoenix Bioinformatics, Inc.

Summer conference season is upon us and I am excited to share that Phoenix Bioinformatics will be exhibiting at conferences for the first time in over two years. Between June 20th and 24th, Dr. Tanya Berardini, the Phoenix Chief Scientific Officer and TAIR director, will be attending the 2022 International Conference on Arabidopsis Research (ICAR) in Belfast, UK.  Together with Dr. Nicholas Provart from The Bio-Analytic Resource for Plant Biology, Tanya is co-organizing the Arabidopsis Informatics Session on Thursday, June 23rd at 4PM GMT and is eager to hear from the community at the Phoenix exhibition booth. Tanya noted that, "I'm really looking forward to interacting with the Arabidopsis community in person - friends, colleagues, and new faces - after so many years.  We have a lot to share and catch up on."

Next month, Phoenix will also be participating in the Plant Biology conference taking place in Portland, Oregon from July 9th through July 13th. Dr. Shabari Subramaniam Phoenix's Director of Business Development, has organized a workshop on Bioinformatics Resources for Plant Biologists on Monday July, 11th from 10 AM until noon PDT. According to Shabari, ”This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to be updated on the latest bioinformatics resources in plant biology and their research applications”. In addition, Phoenix will be exhibiting at booth 404 where Shabari, Zach Zouyed (Phoenix’s Sales Support Representative), and I will all be at the booth to learn from and engage with the community.

Please look for us at these two events. We’d love to hear from you! Whether you want to share with us how you use resources supported by Phoenix, your vision for the future, or want to talk about financial sustainability for other projects, we’d like to hear from you. The Plant Biology conference will be my first scientific conference since I’ve joined Phoenix so I’m especially excited to get to meet more of the Phoenix community.
