This site aims to collate information about the A. thaliana Col-0 v.12 reannotation effort. The broad project plan and timeline are shown below. Project goal: To produce an improved structural annotation of the A. thaliana Col-0 genome based on a 2022 community consensus genome assembly
Project phases:
Timeline: Roughly 14 months, starting Nov. 2022
Milestones:
Oct. 27, 2022: First community Zoom call (see minutes)
Dec. 23, 2022: Col-CC assembly submitted to GenBank by Schneeberger lab
Jan. 26, 2023: Col-CC assembly processed and released by NCBI: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/assembly/GCA_028009825.1
Participants:
- globally distributed scientists (UK, Germany, China, Canada, US, so far)
- varying areas of expertise relevant to different phases of the project, not all participants are involved in all phases
- TAIR will provide coordination/project management and hosting of the software for manual review
